VDI Guideline VDI 2770, Part 1: Operation of Process Plants—Minimum Requirements for Digital Manufacturer Information for the Process Industry—Fundamentals

The VDI Guideline VDI 2770, Part 1, addresses the transfer of manufacturer information—such as declarations of conformity, certificates, and other product-related information—to the operator. To this end, the guideline specifies the characteristics of this information with regard to its classification, structure, metadata, and file formats. The application of the VDI guideline is intended to simplify the processes involved in the transfer of manufacturer information for manufacturers, users, and operators alike.

This VDI guideline is intended for both manufacturers of machinery and equipment and manufacturers of content management systems, as well as the users of those systems.

VDI 2770, Part 1, has been published in German.

DIN EN 15494 Candles – Product Safety Labeling

The new draft of DIN EN 15494 will be published this month. The standard specifies the minimum safety information that must be included on the labels of candles at the time of sale. It covers safety information and the presentation of product safety labeling. It also establishes optional safety warnings, which may be displayed either as a symbol or in text form.

DIN EN 12385-3 Steel Wire Ropes—Safety—Part 3: Information for Use and Maintenance

The new draft of DIN EN 12385-3 will be published this month. The standard specifies requirements for information necessary for the use and maintenance of steel wire ropes. This refers to information that must be provided by the rope manufacturer or included in the operating instructions for a machine, machine component, or system in which the rope is installed. The annexes provide examples of what this information might look like.

DIN 2331: Conceptual Systems and Their Representation

The new draft of DIN 2331 will be published in February. The standard describes the relationships between terms, sets forth general principles for the structure of terminology systems, and establishes requirements for their graphical representation. The standard is intended for anyone involved in terminology work and the implementation of terminology, regardless of their technical field.
